Annual 9/11 First Responders 8-day trip

by Excel Long Range Sportfishing, 9-14-2026

We are out on our annual 9/11 First Responders 8-day trip and we decided to start at the lower end of things. Excellent sign of good grade tuna but the sharks are making it really tough to get them in the boat. We've been able to scratch at a few wahoo while trying to avoid the tax man

Gallagher/ Bob Sands group

by Excel Long Range Sportfishing, 9-09-2026

Nothing has come easy for the Gallagher/ Bob Sands group. Hurricane Marie really stirred up the water up down below and the water temperature is anywhere from 83-90 degrees. That's not a typo. We've been able to catch a little bit every day. Currently fishing our way back up the line with some action on yellowtail and dorado today

Gallagher Alijos Rocks 10 day trip

by Excel Long Range Sportfishing, 9-05-2026

Out on our Gallagher Alijos Rocks 10 day trip where we've been in a holding pattern for the past couple of days. The storm has passed, but the seas are still a little too dicey offshore to head down just yet. Been passing the time by catching some yellowtail along with this beautiful White Seabass

A very nice start to our Brown 4-day. Fast paced yellowtail action that lasted into the dark. Also picked up a wahoo, a tuna, and lots of marlin(all released). El Niño 2026 is here.

by Excel Long Range Sportfishing, 8-20-2026

Wrapping up our annual Casper 3-day trip where the weather was a bit nasty, but the good yellowtail fishing kept us at the rail. Thank you to the Casper family for putting together another fantastic group of Anglers

Everyone getting in on the action

by Excel Long Range Sportfishing, 8-12-2026

Very fun tuna fishing down here right now with everyone getting in on the action. Sprinkle in a little bit of yellowtail, dorado, and a token wahoo, and you've got yourself a great start to a fantastic trip.

On our way up the line
